Play vs Practice
The lobby has two buttons: Play and Practice. They are the only choices a player has to make about *how* a race runs. Everything else — which network you're on, who signs your turns, what the entry fee is — is handled for you.
The real game. The race is registered on-chain, your turns are submitted on-chain, and the standings are settled on-chain. During beta, the game uses credits and hosted signing so you do not manage a wallet, gas, or network setup. When mainnet opens, the same Play button takes you to mainnet races, paid out of your account balance.
By default, Lucky Races signs your turns for you (a hosted custody service holds a key on your account's behalf). You don't manage gas, you don't see a wallet popup, you just race.
This is the right choice for:
- Almost everyone
- Both casual play and ladder/tournament play
- Agents that want a hosted signing path
